What Is a 26×32mm Photo?
A 26×32mm photo is a small rectangular portrait — its pixel size depends on the resolution (DPI) the issuer expects.
- Physical size: 26×32mm (about 1.02×1.26 inches)
- Pixels at 300 DPI: 307×378px
- Pixels at 350 DPI: 358×441px — the resolution used by China's resident ID standard
- Same physical size, different pixels: always check which DPI the issuer specifies
Common Uses
Verified examples from our spec database:
- China resident ID card (第二代身份证): 358×441px at 350 DPI = 26×32mm, white background, JPEG with strict file-size limits — per Ministry of Public Security industry standard GA 461-2004 (the photo itself is usually captured on-site by police)
- Spain passport / DNI: 26×32mm, plain white or light background — per Ministerio del Interior; note it is not the Schengen-standard 35×45mm
- China student enrollment variant (学籍照片 307×378): 26×32mm at 300 DPI — per our China domestic spec database
How to Make One Online
Choose the spec
Open the /id-photo tool and pick a 26×32mm preset (China ID-related specs) — or enter custom dimensions.
Upload a photo
Take a selfie against a plain wall or upload an existing shot. It is uploaded only when you choose AI processing; use the non-AI workflow for authorities that prohibit editing.
Preview free
AI centers the face, crops to the exact ratio, and swaps in a white background. The preview costs nothing.
Download or print
Pay $1 for the exact-pixel HD file, or $2 for a 300-DPI print sheet with multiple copies on one page.
Background & Compliance Notes
- Background: white for both China ID-related formats and Spain DNI — our AI replaces it automatically
- China resident ID photos are normally captured digitally on-site by the police; a self-made 26×32mm photo fits related uses (residence permit, social security variants) that share the format
- The issuer's official rules prevail — confirm DPI, file-size limits, and recency before submitting
