What Is a 600×800px Photo?
A 600×800px photo is a pixel-first digital spec: 600 pixels wide, 800 pixels tall — a 3:4 portrait ratio.
- Pixel size: 600×800px (3:4 aspect ratio, portrait)
- DPI is irrelevant for digital uploads — only pixel dimensions, file size, format, and background matter
- If printed at 300 DPI it would come out 50.8×67.7mm (about 2×2.7 inches)
- Online portals that ask for exact pixels will reject anything else — even a 'nicer' higher-resolution file at the wrong size
Common Uses
Pixel-first specs are the norm for digital portals. Verified examples from our spec database:
- US visa (DS-160) & DV Lottery: square JPEG 600×600 to 1200×1200px, ≤240KB, sRGB — per U.S. Department of State
- New Zealand NZeTA: 540×720px, 250KB–10MB — per Immigration NZ
- Ireland online passport: 715×951px, 350KB–9MB (reference data in our database)
- China gaokao/enrollment variants: 480×640px and 545×763px; 学信网 (CHSI): 480×640px — per our China spec database
- If your issuer asks for 600×800px exactly, enter custom pixel dimensions in the tool
How to Make One Online
Choose the spec
Open the /id-photo tool and enter a custom 600×800px size — or pick the matching portal preset.
Upload a photo
Take a selfie against a plain wall or upload an existing shot. It is uploaded only when you choose AI processing; use the non-AI workflow for authorities that prohibit editing.
Preview free
AI centers the face, crops to the exact 3:4 ratio, and replaces the background. The preview costs nothing.
Download or print
Pay $1 for the exact-pixel HD file, or $2 for a 300-DPI print sheet if you also need paper copies.
Background & Compliance Notes
- Background: plain white or light-colored is the safe default — our AI replaces it automatically
- Watch the file-size window: portals often set both minimum and maximum KB — our tool tunes JPEG quality to fit
- Check format and color space (JPEG, sRGB is the common requirement) and the issuer's editing policy before uploading
