Greece Passport Photo Requirements
Greek passport photo standard (GR_passport in our verified spec DB).
- Size: 40×60mm — LARGER than the Schengen-standard 35×45mm
- Face: 70–80% of the photo height
- Background: solid white or pale colour
- Expression: neutral, mouth closed, eyes open (standard biometric practice)
- Recency: taken within the last 6 months (standard biometric practice — confirm with the Passport Office)
- Editing: strict — no retouching, filters or AI alteration of appearance; digital background replacement not allowed
⚠️ Larger Than the Schengen Standard
Greece is a Schengen member but its passport photo is 40×60mm — larger than the 35×45mm used by most of Europe. Do not submit a Schengen-size photo for a Greek passport; crop specifically to 40×60mm.
⚠️ Strict No-Editing Policy — Where Our Tool Fits
Our verified spec DB marks this entry editingPolicy='strict': the submitted photo must be an unaltered original. Use Retouch.im to check framing and crop to 40×60mm, and submit an unedited original for the application itself. Preview free — HD download $1, 300-DPI print sheet $2.
Common Rejection Reasons
- Wrong size — submitting a Schengen 35×45mm photo instead of 40×60mm
- Face not 70–80% of the photo height
- Background not solid white/pale, or has shadows
- Edited, filtered or retouched photo
- Photo older than 6 months
- Non-neutral expression or tilted head
