- Size: 35×45mm (Schengen standard)
- Face: 70–80% of the photo height
- Background: white or light-coloured, plain
- Expression: neutral, mouth closed, eyes open (standard biometric practice)
- Recency: taken within the last 6 months (standard biometric practice — confirm with the IRN)
- Editing: strict — no retouching, filters or AI alteration of appearance; digital background replacement not allowed
