Spain Passport (Pasaporte) / DNI Photo Requirements
Applies to the Spanish Pasaporte and DNI national ID card (ES_passport in our verified spec DB).
- Size: 26×32mm — a uniquely small size, NOT the Schengen-standard 35×45mm
- Background: white or light, plain
- Expression: neutral, mouth closed, eyes open (standard biometric practice)
- Recency: taken within the last 6 months (standard biometric practice — confirm with the issuing office)
- Glasses: not specified in our verified DB entry — remove them to be safe
- Editing: strict — no retouching, filters or AI alteration of appearance; digital background replacement not allowed

Most of Schengen Europe uses 35×45mm, but Spain's passport and DNI photo is 26×32mm. A Schengen-size photo will be rejected. Crop specifically to 26×32mm — this is one of the most common mistakes on Spanish applications.
